Louise Boillat

With over 30 years of litigation experience, Louise has tried over 68 civil jury trials to verdict in Supreme Courts throughout New York State.

After receiving her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, Louise became an Assistant District Attorney for the County of Monroe. Louise initially worked in the Appeals Bureau preparing briefs and arguing appeals in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and the New York Court of Appeals, the State’s highest court. Louise then turned to trial work and prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and non-violent felonies. Louise’s prosecutorial career culminated in the Major Felony Bureau where she tried felonies including sex offenses, armed robbery, burglary, assault and narcotics involving violent felons and career criminals.

Louise began her civil litigation career in 1990 at the Allstate Insurance Company. At Allstate, Louise defended individuals and tried cases involving premises and motor vehicle accident liability. In 2005, Louise became staff counsel for the Travelers Indemnity Company where she defended corporations and individuals in lawsuits involving products liability, premises, public sector, motor vehicle and wrongful death. At Travelers, Louise continued to try cases and advocate at arbitrations, mediations, motions and appeals.

Louise joined Brown Hutchinson LLP in 2013 where her practice includes general civil litigation and insurance defense.
