Joseph is a litigator with a diverse background which helps him advocate for clients' goals through creative analysis of issues, incisive problem solving, and empathetic and persuasive communication with all players in a legal dispute. He focuses his practice in civil litigation, addressing labor and employment, discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour and contract disputes for businesses, organizations and individuals. He litigates premises liability and personal injury cases, and has experience with education and school law, administrative agency practice, class and collective actions, and electronic discovery as well.

A member of The Sedona Conference Electronic Document Retention and Production Working Group on electronic discovery (eDiscovery), Joseph has a special interest in the intersection of litigation and technology as applied in litigation, eDiscovery, evidence, legal project management, and computer forensics. Joseph has applied his information technology expertise and project management skills to plan and execute eDiscovery projects in matters large and small, from multistate federal court class actions to state court litigation. He has experience with a range of eDiscovery and database software such as Concordance and Access/SQL Server.

Joseph has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Applied Science and Technology and School of Photographic Arts and Sciences.  He has taught and developed courses for graduates and undergraduates in fine art and applied digital photography, and internet, multimedia and database development and design.

Before pursuing his legal career, Joseph served as a photojournalist in the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 1993 serving in both Desert Shield/Storm and the Operation Restore Hope famine relief effort in Somalia. He provided documentary and news photojournalism of multi-service operations for widespread media publication and the historical record of these and other major events.  For his service he recevied many military awards, including the Navy Commendation Medal and four Navy Achievement Medals.

He has also photographed for TIME Magazine, The New York Times, ABCNews.com, the University of Rochester and the Rochester Red Wings, among others, developed internet web sites, databases and applications, and consulted on professional digital camera quality for KODAK.
